Hi, Lucifugum. At the beginning I want to say that without Bal-a-Myth and Faunus Lucifugum is not the same to me as earlier. You will wonder why did I ask about the interview etc? Because with great attention I watch the ex-USSR Black Metal scene, and since it's impossible to miss you I would like to make clear for me some things that interest and irritate me. That's why the questions will be mainly about the present time. So the first question: for what all this continuation of Lucifugum? You think you keep the rights?

"A stupid beginning, though typical for the next screw from the conveyor of curious ones. As a whole, Black Metal has lost its face when the crowds of such curious humans have become interested in underclothes, in stench of socks instead of Death sensations. Listen guy, perhaps, you just came back from the army and your "knowledge" of Black Metal is taken from such "cool thing" as internet? The discussion will be hard, I hate yesterday's teenagers, you're still weak and there are many self-cognitions ahead of you. What kind of paper do you need as a proof of the "authority"? That I'm that one who created all this and without whom nothing could be? What do you know about "old" LUCIFUGUM? The band is my blood already during 12 years, and no one of the past members wouldn't dare to tell in the same way. I limited myself in many human things to make possible the continuation of all this, and when the next human worm appears with the next stupid "no, the band is already not the same as earlier"… I could openly recognize the force of christi in exchange of possibility to kill with impunity. No, not for "destruction of all humanity", but to free some space around me."

What's the problem with Lutomysl? Why did you break the relations with him? What ideological disappointment do you mean? In due time he took part in recording of two Lucifugum's albums: "Back to chopped down roots" and "Sociopath…". So why?

"This young man grew before my eyes, comprehended the certain things by which was guided in the further, already not feeling himself the part of society. In some degree he was spiritually devoted to LUCIFUGUM. Some time ago, protecting this name, he was involved into unequal fight (two against five) with some motherfuckers. And that's why Pavel's behaviour last time was not clear, because stupid in elementary situations. By his own opinion, we should brand as the enemy and to place in chapter "humans" a label which didn't want to edit on vinyl Lutomysl's album without preliminary listening. Possibly, he wished to look as LUCIFUGUM, which never sent promos to edit an album. It was and remains his private affair, but to fall in such absurd… Not each label would want to deal and with us, but it's not enough for such charge. Together with this Pavel considered unfairly placed in the same "humans" one worm which tried to deceive us on 20 cd's. Probably, feeling himself the big star or simply not understanding that PROPAGANDA is the Underground label but not the monetary printed press, he has asked the huge for us sum of money for the edition of one of his albums on cd. In that case it was right to tell him "fuck off", though then we have simply politely refused of his "offer". Nerves weaken when envy becomes the lubricant of a cranium. Possibly, this is the case when the age of greedy cognition smoothly mutated into the mature pragmatic aspirations. The human - it sounds bitterly."

Why did you leave the native Zhitomir having preferred Nikolaev? Have run away from the problems? If yes, then with whom? With skinheads? With cops? With addicts? Or something else, for example, the good recording studio? Then why Nikolaev instead of Kiev or Kharkov?

"And what, the stars will shine more brightly at your sky (you have the own sky, don't you?) if you open such "top secret"? There was no any firm movement of sheepheads in Zhitomir, moreover, my criminal connections would be enough to resolve such problems in case if I were not able to do it by myself. The most of addicts in general are harmless plants.
Not we, but just I have changed my location for the continuation of LUCIFUGUM together with really dedicated person."

Should the true satanist sacrifice his life in the name of Satan?

"The life itself should be a sacrifice instead of piece of meat with bones."

Khlyst, in Propaganda zine #2 you attack Modgud of Zmrok personally and all women generally about what they do in black metal and what is their reason to come to black metal. Looking at what we have now your opinion has been completely changed?

"Attentive one should notice that I have begun the interview not with attacks, but only having showed the interest to a theme "women in Black Metal scene". A stupid female, not having own brains, but using other's preparations/advices, at once have been striking an attitude "here what I am, the aggressive girl, don't come". There was an impression, that she took the answers from the text-book "how to behave in Black Metal ", but not from own "views". Till the certain moment I knew nothing about this band and perceived this "warrior" just as opponent for discussion on really interesting and necessary theme. The necessity is caused by the parasitizing phenomenon - humanization of abilities and conditions which not everyone who can speak the "human language" can reach. The percent of sexism is enough widespread in Black Metal culture, and this element testifies against Black Metal as culture "not for usual normal people". The main human instinct, continuation of human kind, is the worst enemy of Black Metal as elite Art instead of any next form of pastime like christianity. Indulging the own passions wormy humans try to gnaw the air which they will never touch. And Black Metal as phenomenon perverted by alien influences is not an exception.
As for my opinion about "what we have now"... Stabaath was a Satanist long before she has learned about Black Metal, and she was not had to change anything inside herself to "become worthy". She has appeared in Black Metal not to feel something new and non-standard. Having gone after car accident through 6 hard surgical operations, clinical death and having seen that notorious "tunnel of light " (about which many of you write the poems, straining the human brains), this Witch has kept own ideology. Though the overwhelming majority of worms, having gone through the similar things, automatically would find out in themselves the love and gratitude to the god. So to compare her with the next hooliganish metal girl is the same as to try to dilute a tub with pitch with the portion of sperm of weak orgasm."

In majority of opinions you already will never surpass the best albums of Lucifugum, such as "On the sortilage of christianity" and "And a wheel keep crunching ". Yes, it was Black from the big letter. Why present Lucifugum can't give out any album worthy the listed?

"Who are this "majority"? Those who in due time got the refuses of "friendship" and who didn't get free cd or answers their stupid questions? I'll try to define more exactly: this is ex-USSR territory with its artificial ambitions and opened envy. I will not say with false modesty that
"I don't know how it had happened … ", but from its beginning LUCIFUGUM has become the band whose activity provoked a big anxiety. The resonant reaction continues till now: someone constantly and at any opportunity will chatter about how much this band is not interesting to him, not understanding that his chatter testifies the contrary. Someone, even having not introduced himself sends without return address his poems, thoughts and pictures only for we could see it. Yes, perhaps, this or that case is just the form of self-demonstration, and every act will define just the activists directly, but we talk about target, phenomenon through which someone wanted to show himself. If to use your primitive "better" and "badly", LUCIFUGUM has surpassed its old albums when recorded "Vector33", and then has spat out two even more magnificent pieces of frenzy. This is our opinion, opinion of those who created this and who feel this as nobody else. For someone even shit from Ildjarn will be the great masterpiece, though it's doubtful that such fan would wish to plunge in the atmosphere of the farm and to pull on the striped shirt following the example of his idol. I wouldn't like to speak negatively about the "times from the big letter" but just now LUCIFUGUM attacks with really pure Black Metal, just now when the so-called style of music has begun to mean something for me. And absolutely clear that the snotty negative reaction is just the weak attempt to hide the own impossibility to understand through human brains the all depth of not human. Together with this LUCIFUGUM's releases are the most asking in our catalogue. Is such really big percent of idiots knowing in advance that again they will buy the weak release? I think that those who buy these releases know themselves well and also know very well what they need."

In paper Propaganda's catalogue we can read that Black Metal is an art of the lone persons. How all this combines with fact that Lucifugum is a family, even if it's satanic family according to your own words?

"LUCIFUGUM is the one organism of two persons which don't have any additional personal "hobbies". We don't have friends and other attributes that define the image of normal human. All our communication with external world is minimal and caused only by the "work of label", that's why in daylight time we have to spend some time among the worms on "fresh air". As a whole, almost all our activity goes on at night. I tell this not for "black" image, simply being so-called "owls" we have chosen the optimal for us size of life."

Do you listen to the music of the bands which you edit? Is their music acceptable to your taste, or, the main thing is strong ideological part? Lucifugum members often mention that they are not the followers of any groups and deny any authorities. But suppose, it's not impossible for you to listen to your own music only, right? Or, may be, your personal musical tastes in general are outside the style that you create and play?

"Definitely, we're guided by own "taste" when we choose the future release, Underground label is free to do such things. Yes, some our releases we listen enough often, if such definition is relevant. The core is that earlier I listened to other's music very seldom, the popular Darkthrone I have heard the first time already after LUCIFUGUM has recorded 9 albums. Moreover, I have heard it just because this band was in Stabaath's collection. I was interested just in really Underground acts, where I tried to find the sincerity, so rare condition in all times. Stabaath listened to many bands and only Raw Black Metal. Now her priority is the same.
As for authorities… Black metal is an egoistic Art. And when the crowds of the followers do the next cover of Burzum or somebody else I can't say that they behave as really ambitious persons. As admired musicians, yes, but not as Creators or Philosophers."

In chapter "Aqua Toffana" of Propaganda's site we can read that some labels already have been refused of "Involtation" cd because it insults them and their bands also. In what is this insult? Or Lucifugum again try to show themselves eternal extremists?

"When LUCIFUGUM's activity just has begun I was older of that norwegian teenagers which in every norwegian yard organized their "true norwegian black metal" just to demonstrate how they are "young and impudent". I was very far from the age when you need to prove something to someone. Being concentrating on my so-called inner world I was completely devoted to deed which I considered mine. A poor possibility to become "famous" was not interesting to me at all, and only that's why LUCIFUGUM was perceived by majority as a band of Bal-a-Myth and Faunus. I was had to "appear" myself just to separate the real things from the torrent of rumours.
And on 12th year of active LUCIFUGUM's opposition I have to prove that we "don't play for the public"? All what we do, we do in agreement with ourselves and with responsibility just before ourselves. And how it will be perceived by the others doesn't have any mean. But if we pathologically not able and don't want to see so-called "misanthropy" hidden somewhere in the bushes of the next wood landscape - we talk this openly. If we consider that aggression of Black Metal can't be define by quantity of snow-drifts and fir-trees - we're intolerant in this. Is it not enough to irritate the surrounding majority?"

In my opinion the similar question was in one of the previous interviews, but it's not important. I mean corpse-paint. Many bands a long time ago have refused of its using, considering it the survival of the past. And really, some painted faces are simply funny. Lucifugum used corpse-paint all time and, judge by everything, going to do this also in the further. Why? A tribute to the past? Simply because of obstinacy? Does it really have such big value for you?

"Definitely, we'll use corpse-paint till the last LUCIFUGUM's breath. This is the Ritual of cutting off human inside us. Even if the crowds of idiots soon pose in base-ball kepis and sun glasses on skis and define themselves as "Black Metal", and the crowds of other idiots clap to them, we'll be those who not betray."

Khlyst, why you don't sing and don't play?

"I don't feel myself musician, I wield the guitar very badly and never aspirated to play it. I'm the Creator and for me is enough to have the possibility to write/compose, moreover, I would never give even the part of this possibility in exchange for the ability to correctly put my hand on the fingerboard. I tried to "sing", but being in this condition I'm not able to fully control myself. During the recording of "Stigma Egoism" I was near to haemorrhage of the brain. Understanding that it's not possible to keep that frenzy during the whole album and not being wished to sing with a half of force, I have refused of that experiment. Everybody should do his own deed, of course, if he understands what is his deed. Stabaath is the musician since her childhood, that's why it was not a problem for her to learn to play the guitar also. Besides, the boring learning of the material with rehearsals are the natural things for her, unlike me. We both create the material, and Stabaath records the strings and vocals - everybody from us do own work."

If it's not a secret, who sang on "Sociopath…"?

"I didn't ask especially, I saw this man just a time or two. There was a necessity in a good throat and this throat have done its work well."

I never have seen that in style's definition of any band in your catalogue and other info you would really commend this band. Though you write that most definitions are taken from the labels etc, you never place the full definitions, missing such details as "one of the best bm bands of this or that country", "the cult band…" etc. Is this an artistic jealousy?

"We don't try to "sell the goods at any cost", we try to be objective, moreover, this is not the sport competition. Yes, we understand that such definition as "Viking Black Metal" sounds absurdly, but if the consumer wishes to eat this in such form - two forks him in both hands. But sometimes it's impossible to abstain from the comments. Defining Mutiilation video as the most boring Black Metal video, we were enough tolerant in the expressions. This is not simply boring, this is clown's video where the both guitarists look like pederasts or pierrots. Looking at such "evil guys", every hooligan would feel the wish to beat them. But again, does it have any mean for those who masturbate on everything that they get in wrapping "the most cult cult"? What an "artistic jealousy" can be here? Watch any LUCIFUGUM's live video and try to honestly answer your own question."

Why do all albums of Hate Forest in your catalogue come free with any other release? Is this the next Propaganda's extravagant act?

"One of our customers which bought from us Hate forest's albums have contacted us after some time with the request of possible return of all albums of this group and its further sale for any convenient for us price. His explanations were simple - disappointment and sensation of deceit. We have offered him to choose any releases from our catalogue, and Hate forest's albums as some symbol of emptiness were defined as gifts."

And continuing the previous answer: some time ago Propaganda spread Drudkh's albums on tapes and cd's. Does it mean that earlier Drudkh was not christian?

"drudkh was standard snotty Heathen metal group and such trash we keep in catalogue just because so-called "pagan" beliefs/views are at least some filter of christian contagion. But one day roman saenko, probably, decided to surprise the school where he worked with the results of his out-of-school work. He have made drudkh's album "the swan road" using the lyrics of the biggest ukrainian humanist, national hero of christian country ukraina and simply sincere christian - taras schevchenko. This is the historical fact and nothing else. We didn't begin to choke and organize "the boycott campaign", just have informed our partners because they don't know such specific fact from the history of this rotten country. Labels editors didn't pay attention to this info, it seems that such shallow things are not interesting to them in their heroic fight against christianity. There was no any reaction and from other labels that simply spread this shameful album. Money rule. Is it also an "artistic jealousy"? Then you can envy the total edition of holy bible on cd. In quantitative comparison all Black Metal which ever have been edited in any format will look as something defective."

Interview with Satanic Panzer zine is placed at your site absolutely without author's comments. I had a chance to keep this zine in my hands, so I would like to say that all these comments are not in favour of yours. That's why you have preferred to leave this interview without these comments pretending that you know nothing about its existence?

"The example of this sticky, spineless and puny creature aka "author" is typical in case when some defective piece of body tries to look as big beetle. With the crackling armour to scare away the mosquitoes, and with transparent fragile wings to fly from a bush on a bush if it's necessary.
Right at the beginning when this cattle have contacted us concerning the possible interview, it appeared itself as real ass-licker. The opened flattery (asked us to send as many flyers as possible since it "respects us very much" and it also "hates nazis"), denunciations of with whom it communicates but don't "respect" very much. Besides it was found that it's the elementary coward. Doing the internet zine it asked us very much to not to "blab out" to someone that namely it so actively fights with sheapheads in its "dark stronghold". I don't perverse anything, this "warrior" in simple and understandable form has explained that it afraids of unmasking and connected with this problems. Later became known that he had own shallow consumers' interest in so-called "ns society" - the possibility to get some releases. Just because of fear for own health this worm has refused of idea to write the unmasking material about the herd of sheapheads "blazebirth hall". Again, this is not my fib but just the words of this slippery worm. Such this young partisan playing the war through the monitor has appeared itself. And as it has become clear later, all this childish paper shit "satanic panzer" was made just to revenge us for the refusal of "friendship". Understanding that it will be destroyed, this worm even didn't dare to show us the full version of this interview where he prepared the "tasty salad" of the "comments". Perhaps, we must be flattered by the fact that someone hates us so much that arranges the special balding project, but there are many parasites doing their status in the same way. And it's easy to suppose that there will be someone who is certainly interested in familiarization with "views" of this jewish rat. And it's also easy to suppose that there will be someone who wants to talk in answer about own "ideology". By such way the air alliances and "thanx lists" are formed. The next hurrah to Underground and please encore, especially that moment which is about honesty and intolerance."

By the way, in the same interview you told about "the own cd into the the snout of the prist" meaning Zhitomir's church. What about acts of vandalism in Nikolaev's churches?

"If public scattering of bones on all church and such questions as "where can we vomit and defecate here?" look like insult you can write "+" in your piece of paper. If the burning of (again) own cd at their main altar also looks like vandalism - write one more "+". So do we look like "black metalists" in your "opinion"? Or there is still not enough "marks" for the successful exam? In this case there is no chance to "justify" your (or somebody's else) hopes. This is our final interview and in the further we'll not have the opportunity to "brag" through the similar questions. I repeat: all what we do is for ourselves only though it can harm somebody or benefit somebody."

I see that you brand as bastard almost everybody. May be, the problem is in you?

"When and where did I say that we're are pleasant in all aspects people? But we're able to perceive adequately and to treat with respect to the acts which deserve it. It was the worthy Act when Alex from Oskorei Music has destroyed all edition of his future release - namtar (the clown's ukrainian project)."

Do exist in your opinion the things prohibited for satanist, of course, except christianity itself?

"christianity is not prohibited for Satanist, it's alien to him. Perhaps, it's necessary to separate: there is the real Satanism including the knowledge and practice. And also, there is so-called exclusively "black metal's" Satanism, these constantly changing templets of values which many "black metalists" try to manipulate for the simplicity of use. Everything is clear here: they "satanize" till become adults. Defining himself as real Satanist the certain person must understand that this decision is caused by the choice "In the name…" of the certain order instead of "against…" some set of conventions. Satanism is not just the threat for the sky with indispensable promise to be back with revenge. This is not the privilege but greatest responsibility, that's why not everybody is able to live as Satanist, to live but not just behave in certain manner in certain situations."

What does mean the phrase "fuck self-proclaimed cults and pseudo-elitism", which was present in definion of album "The Supreme Art of Genocide?" What "self-proclaimed cults" do you mean? Or Lucifugum with inherent in them modesty perceive as cult and elite just themselves?

"Yes, LUCIFUGUM is elite band in meaning that very few will dare to behave naturally for themselves and together with this so haughtily. Namely haughtily, with defiant isolation, but not in naughty "star" manner. Nowadays every idiot consider necessary to demonstrate that he knows the meaning of this word "kult". What is this, a some special "star" on marshal's shoulder-straps? And every corporal making some physical exercises (recording a rehearsal demo and placing "no interview!!!" in all 11 "just for elite" booklets) will dream about the mentioned status? Did Black Metal as culture of heresy increase its force after appearance of this term-prostitute? And who does increase this force then? Those who specially warm up the interest around any name to speculate then with all these "super limited and hard to find" releases "not for trade"? And it was funny when someone shaxul (later became known that he is the member of french Black Metal group Deathspell omega) offered me to buy from him the limited Anteus' tape for 50 euro. After I have demanded explanations, he was had to justify himself speaking that in this case he hoped on "rich black metal kids" which will seek after rare things. And certainly, the justification to such shameful behaviour should be a certain great Purpose. And the purpose at once has been presented - True Black Metal. So even don't try to arrange a special trap for us. We're not the cult, we're the source of Black Plague."

In my opinion video clip "Na smert" looks miserable in comparison with such genius videos as "All mothers die" and "Sociopath…". Where is the problem? In absence of new ideas or simply lack of money?

"This video was recorded for our own money, but effect of claustrophobia in visual perception was reached intentionally, not because of economy of money. The both previous experiences of reproduction of emotions through video images were based on traditional for such kind of Art manner - conceptual history. In this case the event is a self-sufficient Ritual."

Lucifugum proudly declare that they are not the members of any front, organisation etc. But there were existed (and exist) organisations which influenced on development of Black Metal very much. Such as norwegian Inner Black Circlе, for example. Is it not an honour for every respecting himself black metalist to become the member of such organisation? Revolutions and rebellions never were created by the lone persons.

"Your sarcasm is clear, of course, if I don't overestimate your mental abilities, and you really understand that all this inner black circle has remained in memory as youthful pranks, a way to make an impression. What was in reality? The young guys having read much fairy-tales and playing in the evil gnomes. Or, may be, I haven't understood their great goal? The today's target for jokes is so-called "pagan front". Also a story about "anti blackthrone" campaign is still hot.
It is remarkable, that these events took place in such country as Finland - the country where the denunciation of the neighbour is almost a civic duty of each law-abiding and conscious inhabitant of Finland. Again, this is not my fib, but official statistic data of one institute investigating the questions of a prosperity of some european countries. The history of campaign is: someone from Finland (I don't remember who namely) has found out on his intuitive level that group blackthrone is a company of clowns which use Black Metal only as a way to joke…
The initiator still had not time to explain intelligibly why those clowns are really clowns, so there were still not presented any confirming facts, but already some tens of supporters have showed the readiness to join the struggle for the "purity of Black Metal" and have put their "ideological signatures". Funny, but even the bard executing quiet acoustic music was going to fight for the "purity of the style". Without pathos, without a wish to join the crowd we have destroyed all blackthrone cd's that we had only after deep familiarization with "lyrics" of these idiots. So it's not necessary to pose on meeting to do such elementary things."

Why Lucifugum still don't have the official web site?

"There will never be LUCIFUGUM's web site, I had come to this decision many years ago. There is no necessity in creation of something like "the hall of glory", just an Art is valuable. Also we very negatively treat such fashionable thing as "my space". It's not clear why many Black Metal bands use this shit. Is this quantity of "friends" really so important?"

How long are you going to continue with Lucifugum? Will you return to keyboards some day? Will the music change? And the final, is the title of the future album already known?

"There will not be any serious changes. No keyboards also, but not because of full aversion to this instrument in Black Metal. Any "keyboard album" of LUCIFUGUM, or, for example the last PROPAGANDA's tape release BLOOD STAINED DUSK "Continuance of Evil" testify that so-called symphonic Black metal can be really evil music unlike rollicking "black'n'punk". LUCIFUGUM will continue to cultivate and practise the same things and will be focused on Poisonous Satanic Black Metal. The title of the future Poison is "Sectane Satani". We will continue till we choke with own marasmus, something alien will not stop us."
